Dress Code

Washington Union High School dress code is based upon the principle that dressing and grooming is the primary responsibility of the student and his or her parents.  All staff members assume responsibility for the enforcement of the dress code in their classrooms and on the campus.  Students are expected to dress in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a positive environment for teaching and learning.  Any dress that is considered disruptive to the education process is not appropriate dress for school.  The following dress code guidelines are enforced on Washington Union High School campus:

  • Shoes are required at all times.  For cleanliness and good health, stockings, socks or similar foot coverings are recommended.
  • Skirts and blouses may not expose the midriff nor may the lower back be exposed.
